Charles II (1660-85),silver twopence, 1681, laureate and draped bust right, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, CAROLVS. II. DEI. GRATIA,rev.two interlocking Cs with emblems, date either side of crown above, MAG. BR. FRA. ET. HIB. REX. weight 0.71g (Bull 697; ESC 2184; Robinson p.148: 63; S.3388). Toned, one scratch in obverse behind portrait, rare flan miscut during the minting process, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as AU58.

NGC certification 6946209-008 - currently the joint finest graded as a regular coin.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Charles the Second, by the Grace of God," and on reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
