Charles II 1680 silver Threepence C struck over O in CAROLVS
Charles II (1660-85), silver Threepence, 1680, laureate and draped bust right, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, CAROLVS. II. DEI. GRATIA, the C struck over O, rev. three interlinked Cs, date either side of crown above, MAG. BR. FRA. ET. HIB. REX. (cf.Bull 663; ESC 1972; S.3386). Toned, adjustment marks at top of reverse, almost very fine and unrecorded.
The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Charles the Second, by the Grace of God," and on reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
