Charles II 1680 Groat unbarred As in GRATIA

Charles II (1660-85), silver Fourpence, 1680, laureate and draped bust right, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, CAROLVS. II. DEI. GRATIA, unbarred As in GRATIA, rev. four interlinked Cs , with emblems inside the Cs, date either side of crown above, MAG. BR. FRA. ET. HIB. REX. (cf.Bull 632; ESC 1852; S.3384). Uneven tone and some light die flaws, otherwise very fine and unrecorded.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Charles the Second, by the Grace of God," and on reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
