Charles I Unite coronation bust, first high arched crown, elaborate reverse, mm lis

Charles I (1625-49), gold Unite, group A, class I, first crowned and draped bust in ruff left, with high double arched crown, value XX in field behind, legend and beaded borders surrounding, initial mark lis both sides (1625), CAROLVS D: G: MAG. BR. FR. ET HI: REX., rev. crowned quartered shield of arms with elaborate frame, FLORENT CONCORDIA REGNA., weight 8.99g (Brooker 18/17; Schneider 112; N.2146; S.2685). Once cleaned, has been pierced and plugged at end of reverse legend, otherwise good fine to almost very fine.

The abbreviated obverse legend translates as "Charles, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland." and on the reverse "I reign under the auspice of Christ."
