Charles I Crown VF35, Tower Mint group III, struck from Welsh silver

Charles I (1625-49), silver Crown, Tower Mint, type 3b, armoured King on horseback left with long upright sword and flowing sash, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding both sides, initial mark crown both sides (1635-36), .CAROLVS. D; G; MAG; BRI; FR; ET. HI; REX, rev. Welsh plume over oval quartered shield of arms, . CHRISTO. AVSPICE. REGNO ., weight 29.93g (Brooker 259; Cooper dies XVI/XXII; N.2196; S.2759). Evenly toned with just a little wear to high points, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as VF35.

NGC certification 2130724-010.

The abbreviated obverse legend translates as "Charles, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland." and on the reverse "I reign under the auspice of Christ."
