HIBER. REX, rev. Latin Declaration in two lines at centre between ruled lines RELIG. PROT. LEG / ANG. LIBER. PAR, three Shrewsbury plumes above, over value .V., date below, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding, initial mark seven pellets, EXVRGAT: DEVS: DISSIPENTVR: INIMICI, weight 29.69g (Brooker 809; Morrieson B-5; N.2370; S.2926). Toned, with some striking weakness at corresponding points both sides on horse head and in two parts of legend, a good depiction of the King's upper body with a charming face, a bold very fine and scarce.

The abbreviated obverse legend translates as "Charles, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland. The abbreviated reverse Declaration translates as "The religion of the Protestants, the Laws of England, the Liberty of Parliament". The outer reverse legend translates as "Let God arise and let his enemies be scattered"
