Islands off Caria, Rhodes, silver Tetradrachm, c.410 BC, facing head of Helios, turned slightly to right, rev. ΡΟΔΙΟΝ, rose, pecten shell low in left field, all within incuse square, 15.30g, 12h (D. Bérend, Les tétradrachmes de Rhodes de la première période, SNR 51 [1972], 9, 6 [this specimen, illustrated on plate 1, 6]; R. Ashton, A revised arrangement for the earliest coinage of Rhodes, Essays Carson-Jenkins 9, and plate I, 4). Rare and extremely fine.
