Brand new for 2020 this coin commemorates the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II and is the only gold coin from Canada to do so. Anniversary gold coins have also been produced for this commemoration from the USA, UK and Australia. The Canadian piece is perhaps the most unusual in that it is a larger scale tribute to the dodecagonal George VI Nickel of 1945, and faithfully features a modern version of the bust of George VI and the Victory reverse. The other anniversary coins from around the world do not feature any retrospective designs like the Canadian.
