Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand III (King of Bohemia 1627-57, Holy Roman Emperor 1637-57), silver 4-Talers, 1629, Prague mint, FERDINANDVS III D G HVNG BOHEMIAE REX, armoured and draped bust right, wearing large ruff and collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece, all within a border of laurel leaves, D S (Donat Stark) initials either side, oval cartouche at the bottom intended for the mark of value, rev. ARCHIDVX AVSTRIAE ETC, crowned Bohemian arms in cartouche separating date 16 - 29, all within chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece, wreath of laurel leaves around, 115.10g (Dav. 287). Commemorating his coronation as King of Hungary and Bohemia, slightly polished and smooth edge possibly after mount removal, about very fine and extremely rare.
