Australia, Victoria (1837-1901), gold Sovereign, 1868, Sydney Mint, second young head left with wreath of banksia in hair, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA D: G: BRITANNIAR: REG: F: D:, rev. AUSTRALIA across centre, crown above within tied laurel wreath, SYDNEY MINT above, denomination ONE SOVEREIGN below, edge milled (Bentley 651; McD 115; Marsh 373; Fr. 10). Nicks and bagmarks in fields, an otherwise pleasing example retaining good mint lustre, graded by NGC as AU58.
