Australia, Victoria (1837-1901), gold Sovereign, 1866, Sydney mint, second young head left with wreath of banksia in hair, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA D: G: BRITANNIAR: REG: F: D:, rev. AUSTRALIA across centre, crown above within tied laurel wreath, SYDNEY MINT above, denomination ONE SOVEREIGN below, edge milled (Bull EGC 1508; Bentley 648; McD 113; Hill 371; Fr. 10). Toned with underlying brilliance, some surface marks, graded and slabbed by NGC as MS62.

NGC Certification 3594714-001 - the holographic sticker on back of slab partially torn.

Calendar year mintage 2,911,000.

The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the Grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
