Augustus, Silver Denarius

Augustus (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), Silver Denarius. Mint of Rome, moneyer's issue struck by P. Petronius Turpilianus, c. 19 B.C. TVRPILIANVS [III VIR] / FE[RON], diademed and draped bust of Feronia facing right, rev. CAESAR AVGVSTVS SIGN RECE, Parthian kneeling right, extending a standard with an X on the vexillum, his left arm held-out low, 4.12g., 8h (RIC 288; BMC 14; C 484). Beautiful dark old cabinet tone, obverse a little off-centre, extremely fine.
