Antoninus Pius (A.D. 138-161), Gold Aureus. Mint of Rome, struck A.D. 145-7. ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P, bare-headed and cuirassed bust facing right, rev. TR POT COS IIII, Roma seated left, holding Palladium and a spear, a shield rests at her side, 7.48g., 6h (RIC 147; Calicó 1654a; BMC 555). Slabbed by NGC as MS, Strike 5/5, Surface 3/5, Fine Style, scratches. Very light graffito in obverse field, struck in high relief on a broad flan, lustrous, good extremely fine, scarce.
