Anne 1713 Two-Guineas MS62

Anne (1702-14), gold Two Guineas, 1713, Post-Union type, draped bust left, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, ANNA. DEI. GRATIA., rev. crowned emblematic Post-Union cruciform narrow shields, garter star at center, emblematic sceptres in angles, date either side of top crown, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, .MAG BRI.FR ET.HIB REG. (Schneider 532; M.C.E. 207; S.3569). Toned, with a few light black flecks both sides, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as MS62, the finest graded of this date and the only example in MS grade at both services.

The Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Anne by the Grace of God," and abbreviated on the reverse as "Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland."

The Mint record of gold output for the calendar year 1713 amounts to a total of £584,597 worth of gold, the second highest of the reign, but less than half of the quantity minted the subsequent year.
