Anne 1711 Half-Guinea Post Union

Anne (1702-14), gold Half-Guinea, 1711, Post-Union, draped bust left, legend surrounding, ANNA.DEI. GRATIA. toothed border around rim both sides, rev. Post-Union crowned cruciform shields, sceptres in angles, garter star at centre, date either side of top crown, .MAG BRI. FR ET. HIB REG., weight 4.21g (Schneider 539; Bull EGC 490; MCE 234; S.3575). Toned wit a few flecks, other light surface marks, extremely fine.

The Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Anne by the Grace of God," and abbreviated on the reverse as "Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland."

The calendar year output of gold coins in the year 1711 totalled £414,918 which is the third highest of the reign.
