Anne 1710 Guinea

Anne (1702-14), gold Guinea, 1710, third draped bust left, legend ANNA DEI GRATIA, toothed outer border both sides, rev. crowned cruciform post-union emblematic shields, sceptres in angles, garter star at centre, date either side of crown over English shield, MAG BRI.FR ET.HIB REG. edge grained, weight 8.40g (MCE 223; S.3574). Some light haymarking in front of head, otherwise toned with an underlying lustre, a pleasing extremely fine.

The Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Anne by the Grace of God," and abbreviated on the reverse as "Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
