Anne (1702-14),gold Guinea, 1705, Pre-Union type, first draped bust left, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, ANNA. DEI. GRATIA.,rev.crowned emblematic Pre-Union cruciform shields, rose at centre, emblematic sceptres in angles, date either side of top crown, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, .MAG BR.FRA ET.HIB REG., edge, milled (Schneider -; Bull EGC 462 R2; Farey 480 ER; MCE 211; S.3562).Lightly toned, with light wear and surface marks, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as XF45, extremely rare date.

The Latin legends translate as "Anne, by the grace of God," on obverse and on the reverse as "Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
Gold was seemingly in quite short supply in the first pre-Union part of the reign of Queen Anne. The calendar year output for gold in 1705 totalled a mere £4,628 which speaks for itself and may have been mostly Five Guinea pieces and Guineas.
