M Queen Victoria facing left wearing a Gothic crown as designed by William Wyon 'Victoria dei gratia britanniar reg. f.d.' surrounding, design by William Wyon, rev. crowned cruciform shields, emblems in angles, garter star at centre, date in roman numerals in lower right of legend which commences in upper left quarter, "tueatur unita deus anno dom mdcccxlvii" design by William Wyon, 156g of Fine gold. Matte proof state slabbed and graded by PCGS as PR70.
Mule error coin. The Commonwealth Mint have confirmed only three coins were struck with incorrect dies, so both sides of the Gothic Crown, rather than Quartered Arms reverse and Queen Elizabeth obverse. Not noted on the PCGS slab, but could be submitted for reholdering with supporting documentation.
Total mintage of 15 coins, of which 3 are mule error coins.
