Abbasid, Gold Dinar, Madinat al-Salam, AH321.

Abbasid, al-Qahir (320-322h / 932-934), Gold Dinar, Madinat al-Salam, AH 321, Qr XXX, 4-5, rev. Qr IX, 33, citing the heir Abu'l-Qasim as son of the commander of the faithful, 4.60g (Bernardi 277Jh). A one year type, well struck on a broad flan, extremely fine, rare.

One of only ten recorded specimens.

Al-Qahir only struck coins for two years in total and from a limited number of mints. From the 20,000 coins in collections and sales catalogues that he studied to form his corpus, Bernardi records only ten examples, from this mint, of this rare one year type.
