Abbasid, Gold Dinar, al-Ahwaz, AH321.

Abbasid, al-Qahir (AH 320-322 / 932-934 AD), Gold Dinar, al-Ahwaz, AH 321, Qr XXX, 4-5, rev. Qr IX, 33, citing the caliph without heir, 4.22g (Bernardi 275 Nd). Some areas of weak striking, otherwise about extremely fine with clear mint and date, rare.

One of 12 recorded specimens.

Al-Qahir only struck coins for two years and from a limited number of mints. Bernardi lists AH 321 only for al-Ahwaz and cites a mere 12 pieces of this date, from that mint, from the 20,000 coins in collections and sales catalogues that he studied to form his corpus.
