17thCentury Token, Suffolk,Bury St Edmunds, Edward Barnbe, Halfpenny, 1669, bunch of grapes within beaded circle, legend and toothed border surrounding, *EDWARD. BARNBE. GARDINER, rev. three line inscription HIS / HALF / PENNY within beaded circle, legend and toothed border surrounding, *IN. ST. EDMVNDSBVRY. 1669, weight 1.05g (Norweb 4263b this coin; Boyne 32; B.W.39). Dark tone, some porosity, fine, with a good provenance.

Provenance:

From London dealer Lincoln 1932 to Ralph Nott.

Ex R. A. Nott Collection, purchased by Spink 1961 and sold en bloc to Mr and Mrs Norweb USA.
