BALLARD. OF. MONMOTH, rev. bust of King Charles II left, crown over CR to upper left, .D over II to upper right, date 1668 in exergue below, legend with inner and outer beaded border surrounding, star stop at top, *GOD. PRESERVE. OVR. GRACIOVS. KING, weight 1.61g (Boyne 10 pl.23, 2; BW 15). Toned a bold very fine, a most detailed token production.

Aside from being the proprietor of the King's Head Inn in 1668 we note Richard Ballard was Bailiff in 1669 and Mayor in 1675.
