Charles II (1660-1685), silver Penny, error legend AVSPCE, second issue with mark of value, omitting inner circle, machined, initial mark crown both sides, bust contained within legend, mainly colon stops, CAROLVS. II: D: G: M: B: F: ET. H: REX., rev. long cross fourchee over quartered shield of arms, pellet stops, .CHRISTO. AVSPCE. REGNO., note reads AVSPCE as opposed to AVSPICE, harp strings only partly visible, weight 0.48g (Bull.585 R4; ESC 2271A; Robinson p.143: 5 (ii); S.3319). The error in reverse reading extremely rare, some reverse weakness otherwise a good fine, recorded as rarity R4.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Charles by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland"; and on the reverse "I reign under the auspice of Christ."
