George V (1910-36),gold Sovereign, 1924 M, Melbourne Mint, Australia, bare head left, B.M. on truncation, GEORGIVS V D.G. BRITT: OMN: REX F.D. IND: IMP: rev. struck en médaille, St George slaying dragon with sword, WWP under lance, Mint letter M at centre of ground-line, date in exergue, B.P. to upper right of exergue (Bentley 837; McDonald 277; Hill 242 R; S.3999).Toned with some light marks, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as MS64 and rare.

NGC certification 8221172-027 - we note currently as of March 2025 that 229 examples have been graded across both services of which only nine have been graded finer than 64 level.

Calendar Year Mintage 278,140.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "George the Fifth by the Grace of God, King of all the Britons, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India."
