Charles II 1684 Tin Farthing

Charles II (1660-85), Tin Farthing, 1684, copper plug at centre, laureate and cuirassed bust left, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, CAROLVS .A. CAROLO, rev. Britannia seated on globe with spear, shield and spray of leaves, plain exergue, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITAN NIA. edge inscribed and dated in raised letters, NVMMORVM*.FAMVLVS 1684*. weight 5.58g (Peck 536; S.3395). With much original lustre both sides, some tiny corrosion spots on bust, though a few more on reverse, a couple of slight rim nicks, otherwise practically almost extremely fine and very rare so well preserved.

The Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Charles, after Charles" and on the reverse "of the Britons" and finally on the edge "The servant of the coinage."
