Victoria 1845 mistruck Sixpence

Victoria (1837-1901), silver Sixpence, 1845, mistruck off-centre flan, first young filleted head left, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITANNIAR: REG: F: D: rev. crowned mark of value within laurel and oak wreath, date below, weight 2.81g (Bull 3179; ESC 1691; Davies 1038; S.3908). Dark tone, struck about 15% off-centre, good very fine.

The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the grace of God, Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."

Such mistrikes occur when the retaining collar around the edge is not in place, at least one other similar mistrike for the 1845 Sixpence is in commerce.
