William and Mary (1688-94),silver Penny, 1690, Arabic 1 in date without stop after, conjoined busts right, GV below busts, legend and toothed border surrounding, GVLIELMVS. ET. MARIA. D. G.,rev.crowned 1, date above crown, MAG. BR. FR. ET. HIB. REX. ET. REGINA, weight 0.48g (Bull 970; ESC 2300; Robinson p.151: 96; Seaman 6 - obv. D + rev. 4; S.3445).Toned has been slabbed and graded by NGC as MS64, very rare this well preserved.
NGC Certification 8220387-008 - This appears to be the finest graded William and Mary silver Penny.
The Latin legends translate to on obverse "William and Mary by the Grace of God" continuing on the reverse as "King and Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland.
The 1690 Fourpence, Threepence and penny are the only small silver coins of this date with no maundy set available.
