Victoria (1837-1901), gold Half-Sovereign, 1893 M, Melbourne Mint, Australia, Golden Jubilee style bust facing left, designed by J Edgar Boehm, small crown and veil on head, pearl earring with pearl necklace, I.E.B. initials close together raised on truncation with imperfect J, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, rev. struck en medaille, crowned quartered low shield of arms, date below more spread out either side of bottom of frame, mint mark letter M directly below frame at border teeth, legend commences lower left with toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF: edge milled, weight 3.96g (DISH M507; Hill 484; S.3870B). Toned with some light wear and surface marks, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as AU55.

Mintage 110,024.

The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the grace of God," on obverse and as "Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith" on the reverse.
