Victoria (1837-1901), gold Two Pounds, 1887, Jubilee type crowned bust left, J.E.B. initials on truncation for engraver Joseph Edgar Boehm, legend surrounding, VICTORIA D: G: BRITT: REG: F: D:, rev. St. George and dragon right, shorter date, smaller B.P to upper right of exergue (DISH C206; Schneider 654; Hill T26; S.3865). A scarcer die type, some light surface marks, graded by NGC as MS61.

NGC Certification 6134393-004.

The 1887 gold Two Pounds was only the second currency piece ever produced, with the previous being that dated 1823 in the reign of George IV; and was minted to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Victoria's reign.
