Victoria (1837-1901), gold Two Pounds, 1887, Jubilee type crowned bust left, normal eye, J.E.B. initials on truncation, VICTORIA D: G: BRITT: REG: F: D: rev. St George and dragon right, larger taller date in exergue, large B.P. to upper right of exergue, broken lower strand to streamer of St George helmet, weight 16.04g (Dyer 2c/3b; Hill T26; DISH C207; S.3865). Toned, quite hairlined in fields both sides, has been graded and slabbed by NGC as MS61.

NGC certification 6769175-006.

Calendar year mintage of 91,345.

The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the grace of God," on obverse and as "Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith" on the reverse.

The 1887 gold Two Pounds was only the second currency piece ever produced, with the previous being that dated 1823 in the reign of George IV; and was minted to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Victoria's reign.
