Victoria (1837-1901), silver Halfcrown, 1887, type A5, inferior workmanship, young head left, date below, legend VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. inverted die axis, crowned quartered shield of arms, within laurel and oak wreath, legend surrounding BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID: DEF:, edge milled, weight 14.15g (Bull 2769; Davies 597; ESC 717; S.3888). Toned, some light patches, otherwise well struck shield elements, extremely fine.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God," and on the reverse "Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith."
