Victoria 1875 Half-Sovereign die no. 2, lowest number and unlisted in Marsh/Bull

Victoria (1837-1901), gold Half Sovereign, 1875, die number 2 on reverse, second young head left, type A3, date below, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA, toothed border around rim both sides, rev. crowned quartered shield of arms in frame, die number below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, BRITANNIARUM REX FID: DEF:, 3.96g (Marsh 450 R2; Bull 1281 R2; S.3860D). Toned with surface marks, digs on cheek, almost very fine, the die number not listed in Marsh or Bull and the lowest number now known, a low mintage year, rare.

Calendar year mintage 516,240

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Victoria by the Grace of God," and on the reverse as "Queen of the Britons, Defender of the Faith."
