Victoria (1837-1901),Proof silver Maundy fourpence, 1838, young filleted head left, legend and toothed border surrounding, VICTORIA D: G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F: D:rev.en medaille, crowned '4' denomination , date either side all within oak wreath, edge plain, weight 1.90g (cf. Bull.3479; ESC 2446; Robinson p.169: 390, R; S.3916).Attractive dark tone, well struck up, extremely rare whether as an independent oddment or as a full proof set. Encapsulated and graded by NGC as PF 58.

NGC Certification 6769180-001 - the only example graded at NGC and only one other superior coin at PCGS.

The Latin legend translates as "Victoria by the grace of God, Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith."
