Scotland, Alexander III (1249-86),silver Halfpenny, second coinage (c.1280-86), crowned head and sceptre left, within beaded inner circle, legend and outer beaded circle surrounding, +ΛLEXΛNDER DEI GRΛ, rev.long cross, star of six points in first quarter, pierced mullet of six points in third quarter, beaded circles and legend surrounding, + REX SCO TOR VM, weight 0.59g (SCBI Scottish coins 35:-; Burns 4 fig.195; S.5062).Toned slightly porous, otherwise nearly very fine, and the rarest reverse variety.

The legend translates as "Alexander by the grace of God," on the obverse and "King of the Scottish" on the reverse.
