Ayyubid, al-Nasir Salah al-Din Yusuf I, Saladin, (AH 564-589 / 1169-93 AD), gold Dinar, [al-Qahira], AH 580, two marginal inscriptions, and an inscription in two lines, on both obverse and reverse, naming the Abbasid caliph al-Nasir, as commander of the faithful in the inner obverse marginal legend, rev. naming Saladin in the inner marginal legend, and in two lines at the centre, 2.75g (A 785.2). Mint not legible, edge-marks, potentially ex-mount, very fine and scarce.
