17thCentury Token, Northamptonshire, Peterborough, Octagonal Halfpenny, Town bailiff issue, 1670, Arms of Peterborough, crossed swords, four cross fitchees in cruciform arrangement, toothed outer border both sides, rev. six line inscription in italic with bold date, Peterburgh / halfepenny / to be changed / by the towne / Bailife / 1670, weight 2.30g (Norweb 3434; Boyne 83; B.W.106/7). Dark tone, a couple of edge imperfections, a bold fine.
