George III (1760-1820),copper Penny, 1797, small laureate and draped bust right, K:. raised on truncation for engraver C. H. Kuchler, wreath with ten leaves, legend incuse on raised rim, GEORGIUS III. D: G. REX., rev. Britannia seated left on rock with trident and shield, holding olive branch, ship sailing right to left, SOHO raised on rock below, tri-pellets incuse on rock to right, date incuse on rim below, BRITANNIA., weight 28.61g (Peck 1132; S.3777). Toned with many surface marks and some wear, almost very fine, obverse better.
The Latin legends translate as on obverse "George III, by the grace of God, King" and on the reverse "of Britain"
