GRATIA.,rev.crowned mark of value, date either side of crown, legend reads .MAG. BRI. FR. ET. HIB. REX., A over A in MAG, weight 2.00g (Bull.2250; ESC.1914; Robinson p.160:264; S.3750). Toned with underlying brilliance, has been slabbed and graded by NGC as MS63.
NGC Certification 8220388-06 - currently joint second finest graded.
The Latin legends translates on obverse as "George III by the Grace of God," and on reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
The 1776 Fourpence, Twopence and Penny are the only small silver coins of this date there being no maundy set available.
