Edward the Confessor Penny Chester Pyramids
Edward the Confessor (1042-66), silver Penny, pyramids type (1065-66), Chester Mint, Moneyer Bruninc, crowned King right, holding sceptre, bust to edge of coin, legend in Latin commences lower left, +EADPARD REX, rev. annulet at centre of voided cross within linear circle, pellet topped from inner circle in each angle, Latin legend surrounding, + BRVNINC ON LEGE, weight 1.35g (N.831; S.1184). Toned, well centred, about extremely fine.
The legends translate as "Edward King " on obverse and on the reverse "Bruninc of Chester."
