Charles II (1660-85), silver Groat, undated milled issue, crowned bust left to bottom of coin, single arched crown, mark of value IIII behind in field, Latin legend and outer toothed border both sides, legend commences lower left, CAROLVS. II. D. G. M. B. F. &. H. REX, rev. long cross fourchée over quartered shield of arms, initial mark crown on reverse only, legend commences upper right, CHRISTO. AVSPICE. REGNO., weight 2.03g (Bull 591; ESC 1840; Robinson p144: 16; S.3383). Fully centred, toned, free from any nicks or marks. Well preserved for a notoriously weakly struck issue, encapsulated and graded by NGC as AU55.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Charles II by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland" and on the reverse as "I reign under the auspices of Christ."
