Charles II 1682 Penny, with R struck over B in FRA

Charles II (1660-85), silver Penny, 1682, laureate and draped bust right, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, CAROLVS. II. DEI. GRATIA, rev. crowned C, date either side of crown, MAG. BR. FRA. ET. HIB. REX., with R over B in FRA (cf.Bull 732; ESC 2389A; S.3390). Toned, extremely fine and rare, the variety not in Bull.

The Latin legends translates on obverse as "Charles the Second, by the Grace of God," and on reverse as "King of Great Britain, France and Ireland."
