Charles I gold Unite, Tower group B, 2nd elongated bust, mm heart

Charles I (1625-49), gold Unite, group B, second crowned and draped bust in ruff left divides legend, value XX in field behind, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding, initial mark heart both sides (1629-30), .CAROLVS. D; G' MA; BR; FR; ET. HI; REX., rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, FLORENT. CONCORDIA. REGNA., the D of legend struck over an R, weight 9.08g (Brooker 58; Schneider 128; N.2149; S.2688). Toned, quite finely engraved design, very pleasing to the eye and evenly balanced, good very fine.

The abbreviated obverse legend translates as "Charles, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain, France and Ireland." and on the reverse "I reign under the auspice of Christ."
