Ayyubid, al-Nasir Salah al-Din Yusuf I, Saladin, (AH 564-589 / 1169-93 AD), gold Dinar, citing Abbasid caliph al-Nasir, al-Qahira, AH 577, two marginal inscriptions, and an inscription in two lines, on both obverse and reverse, naming the Abbasid caliph al-Nasir, as commander of the faithful in the inner obverse marginal legend, and, on the reverse, naming Saladin in the inner marginal legend, and in two lines at the centre, Yusuf ibn Ayyub ["Joseph" son of "Job"], 4.57g (A 785.2). Lovely clear calligraphy for mint and date, clear names Yusuf ibn Ayyub and Salah al-Din, good very fine and scarce.
