Aethelred II long cross Penny, extra pellets in angles, Cambridge Mint, Leofsige

Aethelred II (978-1016), silver long cross Penny (c.997-1003), Cambridge Mint, Moneyer Leofsige, draped bust left, pellet beyond, Latin legend and beaded outer border surrounding both sides, legend commences lower left, +EÐELRÆD REX ANGL, rev. long voided cross with tri-crescent ends, quatrefoil of pellets in two opposing angles, +LEO FSGM ΩO G RAN, weight 1.23g (N.774; S.1151). Toned very fine and very rare with the pellet angles on reverse.

The legends translate as "Aethelred, King of the English" and "Leofsige of Cambridge."
