Kingdom of Macedon, Philip II (359-336 B.C.), Silver Tetradrachm. Mint of Pella, lifetime issue, struck c. 354-348 B.C. Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rev. ΦIΛIΠ - ΠOY, horseman pacing left, wearing a kausia and raising his right hand, a star below horse's raised foreleg, a spear below, 14.54g., 12h (Le Rider 103 (D59/R83); SNG ANS 357). Slightly short of flan, with an attractive old cabinet tone, a portrait of fine style, extremely fine.
