George III (1760-1820), silver Shilling, last coinage, 1819, the 9 of date struck over an 8, laureate head right, date below, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, GEOR: III D: G: BRITT: REX F: D: rev. crowned quartered shield of arms, within buckled garter, French motto HONI. SOIT. Q MAL. Y. PENSE. initials of William Wellesley Pole "WW P" incuse on left shield border, incuse W on right shield border for engraver Thomas Wyon, weight 5.68g (Bull 2155; ESC 1235C; Davies 88; S.3790). Toned good extremely fine and rare.

The Latin legends translate to on obverse "George III by the Grace of God, King of the Britons, Defender of the Faith." With the French legend on reverse translating as "Evil to him, who evil thinks."
