Elizabeth I (1558-1603), silver Shilling, sixth issue (1582-1600), crowned bust left, type 6B, Latin legend with linear and beaded circles surrounding both sides, initial mark key (1595-98) both sides, struck over woolsack on reverse, ELIZAB: D;G; ANG; FR; ET. HIB; REGI;, rev. long cross fourchee over quartered shield of arms, POSVI DEV; AD IVTORE M: MEV; weight 5.75g (BCW KY-2/KY-a1; N.2014; S.2577). Once cleaned and unevenly toned with spots and patches, otherwise about very fine and a scarce overstrike.

The abbreviated Latin legends translate as on the obverse "Elizabeth by the Grace of God, Queen of England France and Ireland," and on the reverse "I have made God my Helper" a Psalm from the Bible.
