Edward IV first reign Groat Bristol, type VII

Edward IV, first reign (1461-70), silver Groat of Fourpence, light coinage (1464-70), type VII, Bristol Mint, facing crowned bust with B on cusp at base of breast, quatrefoil each side of neck, within double tressure of nine arcs, fleur on each cusp, beaded circles and legend surrounding, pellet stops, initial mark crown (1466-69), EDWARD DI GRA REX. AnGL Z FRAnC, rev. long cross pattee, tri-pellets in each inner angle, beaded circles and double concentric legends surrounding, VIL' LA'B RIS TOW, inner legend with trefoil stops, POSVI DEVm' A DIVTOR Ex mEVm, weight 3.15g (N.1580; S.2004). Toned, uneven shape to flan, good very fine.

The Latin abbreviated legend translates as "Edward, by the grace of God, King of England and France, Lord of Ireland" and on the reverse "I have made God my helper," a Psalm from the Bible.
