James I (1603-25), silver Shilling, second coinage (1604-19), fifth crowned bust right, value behind, Latin legend and beaded borders surrounding both sides, initial mark trefoil (1613) both sides, IACOBVS D: G: MAG: BRI: FRA: ET HIB: REX, rev. quartered shield of arms, Latin legend without stops and beaded borders surrounding both sides, QVÆ DEVS CONIVNXIT NEMO SEPARET, weight 5.93g (N.2101; S.2656). Toned very fine and rare.

The abbreviated obverse legend translates as "James, by the Grace of God, King of Great Britain France and Ireland." with the reverse as "What God hath joined together, let no man put asunder," taken from the Bible.
