Attica, Athens (c. 454-430 B.C.), Silver Tetradrachm. Head of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive-leaves and a palmette, rev. AΘE, owl standing right, its head facing, an olive-sprig and crescent on left; all within an incuse square, 17.20g., 9h (Kroll 8). With a great deal of the crest of the helmet visible, of very attractive and compact style, about extremely fine with some residual lustre.
